a couple turbocharger/supercharger questions

actually i guess its only one question... but, anyways

i have an 87 Buick GN, ive been working on it for over a year now, so i am pretty familar with Turbos and how they work. but i was wondering and figured some one on here probably would know is why do Roots style Blowers compress the Air/fuel mixture (the carbs bolt on top of the blower) where as turbos and centrifugal style blowers only compress the air and then blow it into the carb/throttle body. why is that? is there some sort of advantage to not compressing the fuel?

thanks for the info.

They both compress the fuel..just at a different point. See you havent considered setups like blow through carbs for instance. Even your efi motor compresses the fuel. Thats why you run a regulator thats boost sensitive.

The idea is to force air into the motor. Period.. how you go about it..well thats why there are different ways to skin a cat.

Pro's and cons to every setup..
