I'd say if you MUST get gears, get 3:42's, but that money could be better spent elsewhere.

If your sig is accurate I would highly recommend getting a torque converter and tranny cooler before you get gears. With a good torque converter you will shave .5 seconds from your 1/4 mile time. I know you said your not a track guy but imagine what that will feel like from a stop light

Much more bang for the buck then gears. But if you want gears then I would get the 3.42's since they are a nice street gear and it's fairly easy to find a set of used ones from one of the many M6 guys that went up to 4.10's. Since Manuals don't have torque converters all they can do is gears so just about all of them upgrade at some point and sell the 3.42's.

If you want to buy new then get 3.73's but I wouldn't go any higher then that. Don't forget to correct speedo after the gear swap.

Good Luck

I'd agree with the 3.73 if buying new. Running 3.73 gears is about the sane limit for street driving. In my '67 I tach about 2700rpm doing 55mph on my 4 speed

4.10's, computer tune, and good tires. You will have a winner for sure.

Friend of mine has 4.10's in an auto and that thing is mean on the street. Long as its tuned for it and tires to hold it your gonna jump them.

If you have a 2.73 car get 3.42's. 3.73 are what are really considered maxed gearing or for a strip car A4 car imo. I mean, you do drive on the interstate every now and again.

3.73 is an excellent gear for the autos.
I love mine and highly recommend them, with a stall and gears and drag radials you will own on the street.
