So I finally traded my 00 vert today after dealing with the worst dealership in the world (ahem, 430 New Park ave, Hartford, Ct...)and the biggest lemon I have ever had. 6 weeks ago I traded a perfect 99 SS M6 for a 00 SS vert M6 (stupid; I know now I'm over the vert thing) and boy did I fubu

I found after a few days everything was just starting to go. 4 visits later (gone: tranny, rear end, clutch, master cylinder, power steering unit singing me a melody, burning 1 qt oil a week...)to the dealer and they told me several of the problems were inherent to z28s. I did a ton of research and drove a lot of other Z's and found out-wrong!!! I started legal action to force them to take it back (they refused after a week and 2 repair visits). They did a total of 5g in work on it-cost me nothing except much frustration and time. And the car is still really messed up!

After talking to the states attorney and several other lawyers, I realized it would be many monthes before they took it back. And it would probably cost me thousands; that I MIGHT get back. So I shopped around for a week and found a 2001 SS t-tops, A4, all options( I just wanted power windows... ); so me and the dealer started negotations...., I got it for 20,400 and lost 4k on the Vert However the new one has chrome ZO6 SS rims, upgraded SLP exhaust, and 01s come with LS6 intake . All things I was going to put on the Vert; so really I only lost 2k but this 01 only has 18k on the clock and has 1 yr/18000 warranty! So I think I done real good. And this car is WAY stiffer and a good bit faster than that Vert was. I'm so happy And I don't regret the change from M6 to A4 as many fear. It's a lot easier to drive and I just enjoy the extra velocity

Yup, thats the 1yr/ 18000 miles I mentioned. Plus after what I went through with the Vert (guy before me obviously beat the hell out of it...) I got an extension on that til 4 years and 75000 miles including all but glass, paint, and normal maintence.

Welcome to the world of LS1 reliability. I know so many people that have had nothing but problems. Great Engine, Everything else is a complete pile of crap.

I have driven some newer Cobra's recently and even though they do not have the TQ of the LS1 the rest of the car is leaps and bounds beyond an LS1 Fbody. I am glad they quit making them, there entire line of cars sucks.

I rented an 04 Envoy last weeked with 700 miles on it and even that was a POS.

/Rant off

Maybe so but there is also an abnormal about of lemons compared to other brands.

After all you went through with them, to let them make 4K off you....

What address do you want the tube of KY mailed to? Sorry, but it burns me to see a dealer sell a lemon, and then burn you again on the flipside of the deal.

I went to a different dealer for the 2001, and I got them to take 3500 off of it. It has $2000 worth of options more than the vert did and has 30000 less miles on it. So I did okay, no k-y necessary:rolleyes:
All the lemon dealer will ever see from me a major loss of business; I'm telling everyone I meet about their business policies. I run a very nice restaurant and meet about 200 NEW people a day in my area; it's very easy when they ask me about my new car out front to tell them how I arrived at it:shock:
This dealer also has about 12 Vettes on his lot, so I'm off to the Vette forums to spread the word...:D Amazing how costly one refused return can become:think:

Well, before passing judgement, remember how rental vehicles are treated! :) And if you don't think a rental can total up any damage in 700 miles...I got news for ya! Besides, aren't rentals usually the stripped down models anyway?
