There are angle measuring devices that attach to your torque wrench which will give you a reading in degrees as you turn your torque wrench to tighten a fastener. check snap-on or mac's website they should have the tool mentioned with a pic so you'll see what I mean.

Yes, but, do we have to use the angle, or can we just torque them with a torque wrench?

If you're using torque to yield bolts as the original poster mentioned then yes, you must follow the directions that come with the bolts and install them exactly as described, unless you like to do things twice.

torque the bolts to the specified torque value, then with the angle measurement device attach to your torque wrench tighten the fastener to the listed degree value for the fastener in question, no more and no less.

remember that once those fasteners are tighten properly and you loosen them for whatever reason they cannot be reused. You must buy new bolts.

We will see how it works ......I went by the haynes book I have. But I searched and I got the impression that not all year LT1's use tq to yeild. but Combonation Motor sprots said they did. That is where I got my bolts from. Thanks for the replys.

I believe they started using t-t-y in 1996. As I understand it, t-t-y is supposed to give more uniform clamping (which is good for cylinder heads ).
