psychocabbage 09-04-2002, 12:54 PM I ran the single shroud Bosch plats.. I loved mine.
More isnt always better.
But Bosch does make one of if not the best spark plugs IMO.

Jerm93z28 09-04-2002, 03:29 PM open your ears, bro, they are a waste of money.
here's what i mean.... electricity follows the path of least resistance, which will be only ONE of those 4 conductors. that one conductor will be the closest to the center electrode in the plug. the other 3 side conductors will just be in the way of the spark.

rk3red 09-04-2002, 08:58 PM I'm running them because I didn't have $11 a plug for NGK's. They are a good plug, no need to gap them, and they are only $6 a piece. You will have 10 guys with 10 opinions. Best you can do is try them for yourself or don't. A lot more professionals are using bosch +4's over NGK's. just my .02

nikkev 09-04-2002, 11:56 PM If money is an issue then I suggest the AC Delco Rapidfires. They work great and I have used them on my 2 most recent cars. With or without nitrous they work great.Good luck.

94z28jbw 09-05-2002, 05:46 PM Hey man,
I have Bosch +4 Plat.'s in mine.
I like them a lot, I've had zero problem w/them. They've been in for about a year and I haven't had and pre-detonation, overheating, or any problems at all.
The major problem w/ them is the price. They ain't cheap....
As for power gains, I really couldn't tell a power gain, but I did notice it idling quite a bit smoother.
I'd go for it, but there are plugs out there that are cheaper that would probably have the same effect.
Just my $.02

With an attitude like that,it's a wonder anyone answered you at all.A lot of people on here were simply offering alternatives to Bosche which is way overpriced. No one has said "you suck if you get Bosche" or anything like that, they are just saying what plugs they think are best.Anyway, since you got so pissed because I offered you my opinion on AC Delco plugs instead of Bosche;I had Bosche Platinum plugs in my 1995 V6 Camaro. Those were some of the worst plugs I have ever used. The car started idleing really rough after about 5k miles so I pulled one of the plugs. The platinum was completely gone from the plug.So I swapped in the AC Delco plugs and every single Bosche plug had the platinum gone. This was NA,I didn't have the juice on the car yet.45k later when I swapped the AC Delco plugs they still looked brand new, even after using a 75-100hp shot of nitrous.Good luck with whatever you decide to use but please lighten up a little. http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif

psychocabbage 09-06-2002, 10:06 AM My LT1 was different from nikkev. The AC's in the car when I got it were all black.. The bosch plats were like new every time I took them out to redo my heads..
My Nissan minitrucks1 had them. A 1992 and a 1994. Both ran many miles without plug changes and they too were like new. The 1994 truck went 78K miles in one year while I was a courier and it never had any engine issues.
To me, the bosch plats have proven themselves and I will continue to use them. If for some freaky reason, I am told by the manufacturer not to use platinum plugs, I would still use Bosch Supers.

The only reason I know of NOT to use platinums would be for nitrous use.
