comp 305 cam with 600" lift valvesprings

im gonna swap my 306 to the 305, i have crane dual coil valvesprings for 600" lift cam. will this be ok?

yup, given that you're going down a cam size and neither of those cams even comes close to your .600" coil bind you'll be fine.

ive seen a couple of the retainers have broken, how bad is this???

yeah even though it'd be a big pita i'd probably put all new light wieght retainers on nothing like losing a few oz's in your valvetrain

i just put the 600" daul coil springs on my stock heads,
should i have put some, or had machine work for these to fit right?
need to know asap

What are you going to do with the Comp 306? Are you selling it?

Why are you switching to the smaller 305? I have the 305 and want to switch to the 306.

I've got a question also regarding the 305 cam. My car has 90,000 miles on it. Will it be ok to put a cam in a high mileage car? I've heard it was ok, and I've also heard that I should re-build first. If I need to re-build, I'll probably just get it rebuilt into a 383.
