Engine Detailing

Ok, so I used to detail my engine with my good old garden hose, but I'm thinking more high tech, and that I'm going to begin polishing the interior of my engine compartment for car shows.

What do you all recommend for engine detailing?

If your engine is really dirty then spray it down to get those hard to read areas and then I would suggest after drying it thoroughly use some Simple Green to remove any and all leftover dirt and such then go over all of your hose/plastic with something like Zaino Z16 or Mother Back 2 Black.
