No its not the stock intake, i had a 355 with edelbrock heads, slp cam, and edelbrock tes 1 5/8's headers and went 8.62 @ 86mph.
you should be at least running that.
What heads, cam, headers, gear do you have? Maybe you combo isnt a good set up or you just cant drive the car right yet:confused: im not bashing you im just asking...

Oh well ****, at that altitude im sure its running just fine, just to think of air to get anywhere. I totally understand that. BUT l98 heads suck, go get you some TFS or some AFR's and im sure you'll be happy. Plus you gotta get your stealth ram. Good luck

New heads would help but you need larger injectors!
Stock 22#ers will definately hold you back more than the heads. You probably need 30#ers or you will when you get the HSR.

You're missing something simple. With a 383 TPI and that small cam you should be able to blow off the tires ANYWHERE in 1st gear. Have you checked all the simple stuff like timing and fuel pressure?
That combo correctly tuned with any kind of traction should be good for a mid-high 8 even driven rather conservatively. Stop buying parts. Start figuring out what's not right with what you've already got.

Do you have any dyno tuners in your area? I would highly recommend someone who has the knowledge to get it right the first time and stop playing guessing games. You will need a wideband O2 to get the a/f ratio dialed in, and also the PROM may need to be re-burned.
Start throwing the $ towards tuning and stop buying parts until its all dialed in.

Since your dealing with STOCK injectors, I'd say start with 47psi. However you may need to hit 50psi BUT this can and will cause the fuel pump to over work and even break in a short time if it hasn't been upgraded to a Walbro 255 ltr/hr.
I agree with IROC5.7TPI that the engine needs to be tuned and the prom too.
I also understand you money problems too.:(
But like I said before the injectors are the biggest problem, IMHO , causing you to be lean. This can be a big problem too if not corrected.
Be Careful and Good Luck!

Put the SR on and new injectors before you do the tuning. Otherwise you will have to do it all over again when the parts are changed. Just my .02
