380+ hp w/ 8.3:1 compression, what octane fuel?

Origionally posted in LT1 forum, but decided that this would be a much better place for this question.
Should I just be running the obvious 87 octane for an 8.3:1 c/r before I install my charger, or is there something that I am overlooking and need to run a higher octane. So far I have heard both but no scientific reasoning behind any of it.

Most modern sportbikes have fixed timing (i.e. no knock sensors), and therefore are often tuned for lower-octane fuels. It is not unusual for such a bike to lose up to 5% on a dyno with filled with premium fuel. Based on this little snippet of info, I'd have to recommend using lower-octane fuel until you slap on the blower.

Hmmm that car looks oddly familiar

Id say 87 as long as the tuning is right for it.
