Post A little story I hope you really like.

I recently attended the biggest car show of the year up here in Maine and Because i just recently became a Zaino addict(My name is Mark and I am a Zaino addict)I was noticing the different paint problems and the ungodly amount of swirls on these show cars. These guys and girls were hand buffing their pride and joy with everything. How about a T shirt complete with a huge Iron on transfer,or a cheap winter boot sock, not wool but poly something and it was scratching like crazy. Then there was the guy who was waxing his car in the 90 degree sun and having a very hard time removing it. Well now is the good part. The meguires rep tent. This guy was funny. He had a fairly nice Mitsu 3000 GT that he was rubbin on and I asked him what he was going to do about the back bumper. This bumper needed to be clayed and Zainoed. It was no worse than mine and mine is mint now from all the Z5 I put on it. This guy gave me a look and looked also at the 10 or so people around him and promptly told me that it was too far gone and would need repainting. I know I should have recomended Zaino but I didnt want to come across as a Know it All (I hate those guys) But I did learn alot. Sorry this is so long. Just thought some of this was funny.....Mark

LOL Mark! Admitting you have a problem is the first step towards recovery.......but....the problem is, there is no cure for the Z addiction!! Hmmm, I could come up with something to cure all these Z addicts, including myself, and make a fortune! I'll call it Zai-nox, hehehe Treats mild to serious forms of Zaino Z2, Z5, Z6, and Z7 addiction, with less occurance of side effects and withdrawal...:d

Anyway, you are completely correct about these guys and gals at the car shows. I've been to a few myself and most of them don't have a clue I tell you!! I see many of the same things...waxing in the sun, waxing with CLEANER WAXES on show cars, improper application and buffing techniques, the list could be a mile long, etc etc... If you want to learn how NOT to care for a car (show car or not), pay close attention to 99% of these guys at shows. I approached a Meguiar's rep at one of them too, and he gave me all the jargon about how great all their waxes and cleaners are. Little did he know, I've used them all at some point!! Heh, when I told him I'm on this drug called Zaino, the conversation pretty much ended there... nice guys at Meguiar's, just a little too much marketing IMO.

Anyway, yeah, I always find myself laughing and in total awe at what some of these people do at shows. Hell, does a perfect show car finish NEED a CLEANER WAX?? These people must think so...

Oh well, you be the judge, and don't let everything you see mean that's the proper way to do things.... Good info Mark, and for your sake I'm glad you knew better than to trust people like this...

Shhhhhhh! Dont say that too loud. Dont you know that as soon as you start to like Zaino, you immidiately dont know anything about car care and lose all credibility??

Other than that, good story. I've witnessed it many times myself. People will use any old thing they find around the house to rub and buff their cars. I almost cried when I saw a guy with a Electron Blue Z06 use a potholder as a means of polishing his car.

KevinSS came up to one of the events at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY and I went down to hang out for a while with him. We went wandering around looking at things and checked out the Mequiars truck. I'd hate to think how much they paid for the special paint job and all. But the funny part was just how bad the Mequiars truck looked. Swirl mark hell is what came to mind. It looked terrible. It was actually pretty sad.

Who wants to be cured anyway???
(Would you guys think it was odd if I told you that sometimes when I can't sleep, I take a few whiffs of Z-6 and doze off dreaming of bikini chicks buffing Z-5 off my ride??)

I would have loved seeing the look on his face if you would have offered to claybar and Zaino that bumper for him!

Re: A little story I hope you really like.

same thing with the carshow around here. I went to my first car show last summer, and i felt bad for all the old "car guys" who couldnt have a swirl free show car when i (16) have a swirl free daily driver!
