All I know is that the oil is dripping from the front bottom of the tranny. Theres also some oil leaking down the oil filter. I tried feeling the back of the intake many times and I dont feel anything. The oil drips aprox once every second, its flowing out there.

Its your rear main seal.

You have to drop your tranny to get to the seal.

I cleaned off all the oil, and its dribbling down from the drivers side over by the oil filter. This all happened after a cam install and an oil change. I did have trouble getting the old oil filter off and it involved screwdrivers and hammering to get that old thing off. It appears as if its between the oil cooler and the block?

Found exactly where it was coming from while the car was running, it was between this black plate and the bellhousing. The second I wiped it off you could see it oozing between the plate and the bellhousing again. Is there a chance that this oil could get on my clutch?

Like mentioned earlier, it sounds liek the rear main seal..Yes it could soak your clutch and burn it up if it is leaking that bad. Man that sucks. Rear main seals are not that much fun.

Drop the tranny and the rest is pie.

Its preferable to use the special tool to insert the new seal.

I was expecting a seal that I touched during the cam install to go bad, not a rear main seal . What is the part number for the installer tool?

Are you really sure it is not the backside of the intake?

Since you had the intake off.... it seems to be the most logical place to look.

I am about to have to pull my intake for the very reason of oil leaks.

At first glance I thought the oil filter was leaking, but after more research it appears to be the backside of the intake.

I pulled the inspection cover, while it was coming from inside the inspection cover, the rear main oil seal didnt seem to be the main leak. There was some oil around the seal itself but the oil was dripping from above the oil filter around the oil cooler. From the oil cooler it drips down directly onto the inspection plate and gets on both sides of it. Could the oil cooler gasket be my problem?
