Arrow Need advice on car towing...

OK,
I need to get a Z towed 170 miles. I'm thinking I might end up with only towing it 100 miles due to my AAA restriction....
Anyway, I called AAA and they said that unless the car has been lowered, they won't provide a flatbed. (well, they will, but for another $15)

Do you think it's safe to get it towed for 100 miles like that or should I get a flatbed?
I could disconnect the driveshaft of course but considering the pain of removing and putting it back, I'd rather pay the $15 charge.

Thanks for your help!

Spend the $15 now or it could be a lot more than that later...

Flatbed. Watch, if you can, to make sure they don't screw up your bumper when they pull it up on the bed.

Also, probably good idea to hook to the A-Frame rather than the slot provided. A-Frame much stronger.JMHO

my point of view.

family friend and neighbor owns a tow truck/body shop.

my alarm went crazy one day and we couldn't shut it the *** up or bypass the kill switch.

had to get it towed.

him being extra careful (i know the guy REALLY WELL)- and going 2 miles through town- my front nose still bottomed out

If you live near a hill it will help if you are elevated....even a little hill will keep the nose from hitting the flatbed...pushing a car around sux though

You might want to invest in a couple of cheap 2x4s just in case the tow guy doesn't have them with him/her.

Using the 2x4s gives a little more room to pull the vehical onto the flatbed without scrubbint the nose.JMHO
