For those who THOUGHT the car was done think again.SVT stepped in to help Merc out with the project. It is in either the latest Motor Trend or Hot Rod cant remember which.
I have said since people starting saying the car was dead that it wasnt going to die just yet. From the begining,The current engine was a 2 years cycle. Then the detuned 03 Cobra engine was to come into play:bow:.Well my words are just short of being confirmed.Just as long as everything gets passed the bean counters.
Some other side notes. The Ford GT will have 550hp not 500 as previously reported. And they wil build 1300 the first year way more then the 300 that was reported earlier as well.

Sounds good. I really didn't think Ford would give up on the Marauder that easily. The car is awesome, but it needed more power, and especially low-end Tq (both of which the S/c Cobra motor will address).

It needs a lower price tag, too. A better motor will definitely help, but it should be priced about 5 grand south of where it is now. Glad to see them keeping it...I wish they'd keep the T-bird around past '05 too.

i think it looks good and when it gets the new powerplant it will probly perform good too but it is an old man car. ;)
I wonder how the current owners will react ... I assume they may be a little upset over the fact that they got trumped so soon... hmm unless it is a special package that adds even more to the bottom line..

Ford's Performance division would be the one working on improving the Maurader. SVT doesn't do products for Lincoln Mercury. Same department, but just not SVT.
They have their plate very full at the moment with the new Cobra, new Lightning, and the Turbo Focus. Trust me, they really aren't that big... or difficult to talk to.

Yep, heard that the Marauder will get the blower motor in '05, which was also supposed to be the last year of its production run according to what I've heard (although I'm sure that this is subject to change, considering that it'd be very easy to run it for another few years if the response is favorable).

I saw a Marader on the road last week, looks so sleek being all black, almost like it's a limo on steriods

They sound great too. I'd almost consider a Marauder or one of those Crown Vict sports if they offered a manual transmission. I like big cars. True American! :usa:
