Just got my new 2002 Camaro
Now I know they washed it before they gave it to me. But I was wondering how I should handle the paint on a new car? Do I need to start thinking about polish and wax now before we get snow and ice in Northern VA? Or is there factory protectant on it that I should avoid getting rid of?
I bought nothing from the dealer as far as body and paint protection went.
It's a brigth red color and I just want to make sure it stays the Rally Red tone for a long time

If the paint is fresh, meaning 30 days new or so, then it would fine to give her a washing. I would wait to wax her for another 60-90 days. Keep her garaged if possible. The dew that freezes on the car shouldn't be a problem if you do not have a garage. Congrats on the new car!!! Have any pics?

no pics yet, and it was bought off the lot so I'm not sure how new it is. I imagine that it was there for a while. I'll check today as I have to run up there to finish some paperwork anyway.
How about Zaino, how soon is too soon to look at that stuff?

Find out how long the car was sitting on the lot. Chances are it's been there for a few weeks. So just give her a nice washing before you start waxing. It's going to take a week or two to get the Zaino at your door step. I would go ahead and order the Zaino, by that time a good month + should have passed and then start the waxing.

Get the Zaino NOW. It's not too soon to protect the paint. It sits at GM long enough......it's cured.
