Post Back to the Basics

I just got my daughter a '92 Ford Taurus, and the paint (white) is in pretty decent shape; it just seems a little "dim".

My plan is Wash, clay, Dawn, Z1, Z2, etc. Is there anything I need to do before I get to the Dawn stage?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

If you have any minor repairs to make, like small rock chips, I'd try repairing anything that needs it. Same for any damage due to "etched" water spots or bird "gifts" or bug guts.

Kevin,

Thanks for the response. The front facia looks like it has had 120,000 miles of driving, but the rest of the paint has little or no damage. I was just wondering if I needed to do anything to my basic routine.

Have a good one,
Mike

You might want to go over it with 3M's swirl mark remover (39009 I think). That might bring up the luster a little bit, before you Dawn and put the Zaino down.

Thanks, Solomon for the tip. I've got some Swirl Remover at home; think I'll give it a try.

Have a good one,
Mike
