Help with scratches

I finally applied some zaino products to my ride and was fairly impressed with the quality of the products. However, some of the clear coat scratches are still visible and are actually more noticeable now that the surface has cleaned up considerably. The Z5 worked well on very slight scratches but didn't do the trick on the larger ones.

I need some help with the larger scratches. Anyone have any tricks they would like to share?

Use a mild abrasive to feather out the scratches like 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009 and then re Zaino the area.

What kind of scratches will the 3M product remove?

I've noticed on the lower right part of my front bumper, there are scratches from the previous owner (looks like result of a very minor impact) and they look like little lines parallel to one another, but they're only visible when you look close up in light. They don't look like that big a deal.

Would the scratch remover take care of those?

If you can catch the scratch with your fingernail, scratch remover wont touch it. At that point you could try some light wet sanding or having it professionally touched up.

What do you mean by "catch"? When I pass my nail over it, it doesn't get "caught" really, but I feel little irregularities in the paint (it's a whole bunch of little scratches - looks like a spider web).

Best advice I can give is start with the least abrasive and then Z5 if you have it. If that doesnt work, then try 3M 39009 Swirl Mark Remover. If that doesnt work there are some fine-cut rubbing compunds that might be able to do it. If they are still there after that, its time for a professional to look at it. Since you can "feel" the scratches with your fingernail, I suggest you start with the 3M 39009 stuff. Most auto parts places carry it around here like Pep Boys and Advance Auto. I've never seen it at Autozone though.
