I doubt that. It's going to take some really good air again for me to run anything better than I already have. Heck check the sig. The motor is still stock from the MAF thru the cast iron manifolds and my race weight is almost 3600lbs

Thats what I mean...where's that magic wand?

I had good luck with that red 94Z I used to have. I'm sure you remember it...you were with me when I ran my first 12 It was stock from the intake manifold throughout the block and I didn't even START racing it til it had over 100k miles. So I know it's a combination of a little luck and the right suspension setup. Sometime things just go the right way.

Sometimes they don't too... my 99Z runs 13.95 with NO tire spinning (2.0 60') all stock 'cept the lid and filter. Stock it wouldn't get below 14.1 And this is on a car with only 50k miles. I think it will need some gears and a mild converter this year..maybe a cat back or full exhaust too. I gotta get it down to a little more respectable number before the mustangs start teasing me

There is no magic wand. Your 'vert has 3 big differences from the Badbird. 1. weight 2. 2.73 gears 3. 99 has tubular exhaust manifolds the 2000 and up have great flowing (for stock) cast iron manifolds.
My car ran 13.46 @ 105+ with no mods (absolutely bone stock) and 652 miles on the clock. It has taken all of the mods in the sig to put that stock power to good use and shave 1.3 seconds of the et but only gain 6 mph and it gained 1.5 mph passing the 5000 mile mark still stock. So you can see that I haven't added very much power at all. It's all about setup and efficiency.

Well it was a great day to be at the track. The weather was beautiful. 60°, 50% humidity, 30.17 barometer and clear sunny skies.
5 passes QA1s set at 2 on the front, 4 right rear, and 3 left rear. ET streets at 17 lbs. cold.
The 60's ranged from 1.67-1.70 all hooking hard
The ETs were 12.32-12.37
And the MPH was 109.6-110.3
I like the 2 step but I need more practice.
Stomping the gas on the first yellow and letting off of the brake on the third was too confusing and my RTs were .8-.7
Stomping the gas when both cars were staged and letting off of the brake on the third yellow netted a .567 and a .570. I need to shave that a little by either staging a little deeper or anticipating the last yellow just a tad. Just need more practice.
The only downer was unloading the car for the first time at the track I scraped the paint off of the bottom of the front end on the drivers side. I need to re-think my ramps. And get the paint repaired.

Al, Great Runs!!!!!!!

For being the first time out you can't complain to much. For the mods you have it is running great. I need to start looking at doing something on the suspension side. I have added the power but haven't done a thing to the suspension, except weld in subframe connectors. I wonder how much better my times would be if I did suspension work?

Do you have any ideas where I should start with suspension mods. Nothing high end at this point since I am spending a bunch more on the car (power side, nothing suspension). It will be back from the shop on Friday.

Bill

Thanks,
Second time out this year 12.21 @ 111.80 best the first time out but it was coooooooolllllllllllllllld!!!!!!

Suspension only helps if you are spinning. If you're not spinning then all of the suspension mods in the world won't help. And you WILL be spinning. And a perfect drag suspension will not work without tires. With the power you are going to make ET streets or QT pros at a minimum.
I my opinion the best place to start is with stronger LCAs (home boxed with poly bushings or aftermarket) and LCA relocation brackets using the bottom holes. After that it gets expensive

Thanks, the 312hp was before the Super Sucker, Bassani OR y-pipe and the Predator. With those 3 mods I gained a solid 2.5mph so I would have to guess that if I were to dyno again it would show 330?? maybe 335????.
What I don't understand at all is that there were 3 other LS1 cars there the same day. We all has ET streets and converters. All of the other cars had headers and more mods than I have and I out MPHed them by all by 2mph. And the one guy that knew is weight said that it was the same as mine. Kooky, Huh?????
