I remember seeing some instructions somewhere about how to make both doors unlock at the same time and using the channel that used to open the passenger door (when pressing unlock twice) for something else. I can't seem to find that information anymore. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? I'm interested in disabling the "panic" button on my fob and using that channel to run my garage door opener.

I actually found the page with the progressive unlock disable instructions HERE (http://members.aol.com/kustomz28/progressivebypass/progressivebypass.html)
This guy's car is a 99, but I've got the Helm manual for my 97 so I can cross reference the wiring diagram on the BCM if it isn't the same. I really want to use the panic button, but if I have to use the available channel from the progressive unlock disable I will. The deal is that whatever recieves the signal from the keyfob sends out a 12v pulse to the BCM. What I'm thinking is that I can use that 12v pulse to activate a SPDT relay which I would wire into my existing garage door opener so that when the relay is tripped, the "button gets pushed" in the opener. I think it'll work. We just moved into a new house so if I can get away from some honey-do's, I'll work on it this weekend.

I looked at my Helm manual last night and the wiring looks the same. When I pull my BCM out I'll find out for sure. There's no reference that I can find about how the panic button works though. Looks like I'll be using the progressive unlock channel to do the job. That's kinda' lame, but I guess it's my only option at this point.
