Question G2 Caliper Paint - Good? Bad?

Check this out...

http://www.g2usa.com/wheel.shtml

It looks like you just clean up your calipers, mask things off and brush this stuff on. I think I saw that someone here has used it.

Anyone have any feedback on this stuff? Is it as good as they say it is? Details!

The Eastwood Company sells similar kits...
this thread for links to the individual colors and such. I haven't personally used one of the kits, or anything similar - but I think it would be the nicest and most high quality way to go about it.

I watched some show on SpeedTV, they say that VHT spray paints are great, can withstand VERY High Temperatures(VHT)...
High Rev Tuners, earlier this week, they highly recommended this product for brake calipers.

$42 eh? How about comparing how much a powdercoat job will be vs. that stuff?

I know powdercoating will be more, but if it's only a little bit more, I would powdercoat. If it's a LOT more, than I would consider that kit, or the VHT paint.

Caliper paint may last long.....but what happens when it's time to change the brake pads? I don't think brake fluid is very easy of paint. I have heard that brake fluid eats through caliper paint very easily. Maybe this $42 kit prevents that from happening when you change your pads?

Re: G2 Caliper Paint - Good? Bad?

Jason - Did you get the email I sent to you w/ the coupon #'s?

94BlackBowtie - That is the same thing. Eastwood sells the G2, it just costs more to buy it from them v. others like wheelskin.com

WTheV6Bird - Wy would changing the pads hurt the finish? The only way you'd get fluid on them is if you were bleeding and then you just don't be sloppy about it.

The G2 is good to like 915deg which is more than most of our calipers will ever get. Powder coating isn't good to nearly that much as far as I know. I think it's around 400 but I am not sure.
