I am looking into a 68 Chevelle SS but it doesnt have things like engine/tranny ect.. So I'm wondering whats the best way to go about getting a Chevy 454 Block or complete engine.

Also, I havent seen this car yet and have only heard about it from freinds. ATM I dont know if it is hard top or vinal top(shutters)... So how hard would it be to remove the vinal top and make it to look like it was always a hardtop? How much would something like that cost to have done?

Thanks

Well, if you don't have engine building experience I'd try a local shop or try getting one from a GMPP dealer like Sallee Chevrolet.

About the vinyl top, it could be rusted through and if it is, count on paying quite a bit to a body man, unless you can do it yourself.

Vinyl top cars are notorious for rusting more than hard tops. You can simply remove the material and repaint, however there may be a lot of hidden rust to fix.
