The company that makes the hoods is ViS Racing Sports. They make really high quality carbonfiber hoods for the import scene, but also make parts for Euro's and some domestics. They just released their new 3" cowl hood in carbon fiber for the 93-97 Camaro and Firebird.

I e-mailed the company to see if they have any better pictures of the hoods, possibly installed on a car.

ive delt with vis for a very long time. This is the best place for carbon stuff. I never had a problem with any of there stuff. EVER

These hoods have been aviable for a long time now.. all the way from 2" to 6... pins or bolt on, check out summitraceing

ViS has a Firebird cowl hood on ebay right now and it says it's a bolt-on hood. I'll ask them when I get my reply from my first email.

Their stuff may be high quality but that would make me nervous.

Can you paint over them? Or does carbon fiber not paint well?

What are the pro's/con's of carbon fiber over fiberglass? I know both are lighter than oem, but aftermarket fiberglasss is prone to defects and are quite wavy when painted from what I see. How does the cf look when painted. Is it still glossy? Do you see the weave through the paint? Only cf hoods i have seen were unpainted. Please fill in my ignorance to this.

Actually theses hoods are fiberglass reinforced, and weigh about the same as a fiberglass hood.
