305 heads on a 350 block

I am most likely going to buy a 82 Camaro this weekend, and I plan to put a 350 in it. I was told to take the 305 heads and put them on the 350 block for higher compression. I don't really know much about this and was wondering the ups and downs about doing this. I know it will give more bottom end power and possibly less top end. Any inputs on this? Would it give more possibilities on blowing my engine? I want to give it the most horsepower for my budget, and also still be reliable.

Thanks
