head gasket blown
i got a hugh problem i blew a head gasket over the weekend racing a 02 mustang on the freeway. everything went fine while racing then when i got off the freeway i saw a little white smoke out the piping. checked the oil and sure enough it was a blown head gasket.
i got everything fixed now but the car is louder than normal and in park or even drive it does not hold at 1000rpms it's bad like the car is going to turn off but never does and even starting has become a problem i have to turn the key twice to get it to turn over. i've started a complete tune up, but that would not foul the plugs or wires would it. After you're rolling or driving the car runs good only at idel does it act stupied no check engine light either the other morning i started it and the check engine light flashed but then went off.

read the post
if you read my post you would have saw the fact i said the head gasket is fixed but the car is not running right. it has a miss that all the tuning i just did was not able to get it out of the motor.

Did you put new plugs in? You said they foul out... Did you change your O2 sensor? They don't like coolant... AT ALL.
Did you break the AIR tubes on the manifolds? That'll cause the car to be louder.

help
i was asking could it foul the plugs but as i took most of the plugs out they were not fouled but no check engine light came on could the o2 sensor still be bad even though there is no check engine light on---------------------- thanks for the help

Your O2 can become very lazy, meaning that it won't swing over the center point in the reading very fast, but it can still be fast enough that it wont throw a code.
I don't know if you know how an O2 sensor works but basically it is inline of the exhaust gasses, when it sees the exhaust a little lean it will adjust and add more fuel, then as soon as it sees the exhaust coming through rich, it'll take out some fuel. This is called "toggling" over the centerpoint. The centerpoint is normally .450mV. Now, if yours is lazy and toggles only a few times a second rather than like 20 or 30 or more a second, it'll probably run like ***.
Ohh.... ANY spark plug that has burned coolant is in the trash can in my garage.
So to answer your question, yes the plugs could very well be fouled, they can foul out from a bad O2 sensor, I know that for a fact. I think its time for a new one myself. Its had about 10,000 miles on it.

thanks your alife saver
you're words are golden, thanks so much
i will switch 02 sensors tomorrow and finish the tune up anything else i should change just in case it's not right i guess that water in the system could have had an effect on the plug wires also so i will change thoses two i drove the car today even with the idel and i got maybe 8=10 miles to thE GALLON so even still it's time for an all around tune up. also just wanted to add i have two cats that both saw there share of water flow through them and out the back piping which is stock and that could be why it sound so bad i guess.

The other thing you want to make sure of is that you have your distributor set to the right advance. I know my car sounded like *** when it was 6* retarded at base timing. It sounded like the motor was about to self destruct.
Make sure you're at 6* with the plug disconnected on the passenger side strut tower. That would contribute to bad mileage having the wrong base timing.

yep
yea it was a lot of water as if there was a water hose going through but there was only a mist that came out the piping in the back. i did not understand that but i'm on my way to autozone to pick up an 02 sensor oh my gauge pod came in as well.

tapping at wide open throttle
also when i step on the throttle in my car there is a sound that is like a roller rocker is tapping. but only at wide open throttle, wouldent it make the noise when i'm off the throttle if it was a roller rocker.
