Good price for a 90 iroc?
I found one for sale locally and she wants $2100neg for it. Automatic 305, t-tops. I havnt' seen it yet, but she says its in good shape, just a dent in the driver door.
There are 192,000 miles on the thing which is what concerns me. The motor cannot have too much life left in it at this point, the tranny has been rebuilt and the rear cannot go much longer either.
She also says the brakes aren't making a strange noise, but its what $200 to do pads, rotors, and capipers up front, as well as drums and shoes in the back (or maybie it has 4 wheel disk).
Drivers seat has a "small" tear in it, but she has sheepskin covers on (god, I wouldn't even drive it home with those things on)
Basically, what do you guys/girls think a fair price for such a car would be?

I bought my 1990 Iroc-Z for 2,800$ and it is a 5.7L TPI hardtop that was well taken care of with 156,000 on it. I was scared about the miles also, but it runs well and is still running well with no problems. Still runs pretty strong too

you may get lucky and it might run like a gem for another 50 000 km. That being said also be prepared to replace just about every part on the car.
I'd say if the sub-frame/body is basically in good shape then its a good price and might as well see if you can get it down another couple hundred bucks. Just dont get in over your head because you may very well have to be replacing things in the near future.

Thats what i'm afraid of, i'm prepared to replace just about everything, but if it all goes at once i've got a problem. I've got an 89,000 mile 5spd in the garage that I would want to put in, plus the tranny has been rebuilt they claim. I can pick up a 2.73 rear for what $75 or so if i'm really desperate, a decent thirdgen or 4thgen one for $200 for a decent one, or around $350 for a nice one (plus rims for the 4th gen).
The motor is what concerns me, how hard is it go get a 350tpi in there? Does the wireing harness, smog pump lines, AC, etc all bolt up or is there more modification (besides the PROM) required?
Before it hits the road the 5spd would go in, new brakes (calipers, pads, rotors, drums shoes, S.S. lines) all around unless the stuff in there is in great shape, new shocks, struts, springs (again unless they're in great shape), 36/24 swaybars if it doesn't already have them, and most of the bushings replaced, so that takes care of most of what could go wrong steering or suspention wise.
The women does have a pretty long commute so they are mostly highway miles, still I have yet to see one of these motors make it over 250k.

Definatly needs paint, some surface rust on the doors and quarters, motor idles weird and wants to die, normal driver seat rips. I told her $1200 and if its still around in a week I will probably get it for that, I don't think thats to bad.
