Car doesnt shift at all when started?!?
Well the other day I drove my car then it started to make a metal on metal noise. I thought it was the flywheel against the flywheel cover. Then the noise went away. I parked and then tried to restart it but it wouldnt start. I had to push the clutch really hard to the floor then it turned over. Drove it to work this morning and everything seemed fine. Got home fine and now Im trying to leave and my car wont even go into any gears?!? Still have to push my foot really hard to the floor then it starts. I cant shift into any of the gears. When I turn the car off I can shift again?!?!? Please help my problem...Thanks in advance...Ohh just incase

i had a similar problem with my 91 z. either the 350 or the 5 speed is not stock right? did this problem occur after the swap or just out of no where? few things to check are the thickness of your flywheel, the hydrolic system, and the clutch pivot ball. i found my problem was with the pivot. i had to go all the way to the floor to get into gear and to shift throuh the gears but not to the extent you are describing. mine would still start not all the way to the floor, but pretty close. so check those 3 things and let me know. and by the way is your 350 5speed combo stock?? if so we are lucky cause we have super rare cars

Re: Car doesnt shift at all when started?!?
I apologize if this is a newb question, but where exactly is this pivot located & how hard is it to adjust?
I have a LB9 & a T5 (all stock) & it's really hard to put it into gear sometimes. It's fine when I'm upshifting, but down shifting is near impossible, sometimes the shifter just won't go in to gear & sometimes my shifter gets 'stuck' after driving in 5th for extended periods of time (highway) & I have to shift to 4th numerous times until it 'loosens' up so I can finally go to Third.
