Would you buy a new camaro if you had a 67
My dad and I have been working on his 1967 red rs ss camaro with a 350 punched out to a 383 that will put out around 475 to 500 hp. This car has always been my dream car because of what it ment to me. Since dad as restored it he has had nothing but bad luck and should have the car done by the end of the month. Every time I drive up and work on the car with him he tells me that he is going to give the car to me soon This would be great but if that does happen, will I buy the 2009? So my question is if this were your case and you were giving a old school 1967 camaro would you buy the new one when it comes out?

I currently have two 67 Camaros, and yes I am still going to buy a new one.
I don't care how brand new the 67 Camaro is, it's still 40-year old technology. (I explained this to my wife recently when she asked why my son had a hard time getting our blue coupe to run right when it has a brand new motor, tranny, rearend, suspension and brakes.)

I do have to say I sold my 69 because I didnt have the money to restore it the way I wanted. So while it is easy to say whatever online it does come down to what you can afford. Im just being honest about it.

383 stroker... As for the original question, if I could afford both, then yes. I don't think it really matters what year Camaro you already own. It's about the same as asking if you have a 97 Camaro, would you buy an 09? I'd say yes, if you really wanted an 09 Camaro then having an earlier model wouldn't really have any bearing on whether you'd buy a new one. Afterall, it is a completely different car.

Yes you want a new Camaro if you can afford it, I have a 91 Z28 and the 4th gen do circles around me in speed and handling. It is a totally different car and it is worth to buy. But I still love my 91 and it's going to be hard to part with... can't afford both

Hell yeah!!!
Think about it ..... there are fewer and fewer 1st & 2nd-gens around these days ... esp. ones in good shape. When you get that '67 all together, you don't want to drive it every day. The '09 will be a mass-produced, "dime-a-dozen" type car (although, it'll cost quite a few "dimes") so if something ever happened to it (accident, theft, etc.) it would be MUCH easier to replace ... you can't just go down to the corner GM dealership and get yourself a replacement '67 Camaro anymore .
If I could have "my way", I'd have my old '81 Z28 back, because I loved that car to death, we'd have the '69 SS 350 that my Dad had before my time, we'd have the '73 Camaro that my Dad currently has, as well as my '02 Z28 and then on top of it all, a 2009 Z28 . Oh, and I almost forgot, the '77 Formula we used to have when I was a kid ... that's the one that started it all for me, so it should be included too!!
You CAN'T have "too many" F-bodies!!!!
