Hello,
I will probably buy ZR-1's or Z06'S for my 93Z forth gen soon. My question is ....Should I buy 17" or 18's. I have the LS1 12" rotors and brake calipers already on the car.
I'm sure thats a silly question for some, but wheels and tires are alot of money to invest, and I'd like to get it right. I live in an area where you don't see these wheels on Camaros to compare them.

I like Z06 wheels much better than ZR1 wheels. What color is your car? On darker colors (black, green), I like American Racing Torque Thrust II's a lot too.

I prefer 17" wheels, but if you like 18" better and you can afford the extra cost, go for it. 18" tires cost more too.

LS1 brakes will fit under 16" wheels, so no worries.

 

18" and drop it...I like the 5 spoke design of the ZR1s

18" Z06 is where it's at. I have pictures of mine in my profile.

 

ZR-1s. Z06s are starting to get played out too much nowadays.

 

Go with the 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 Z06's (I bought these from a friend that had them on his 98 Z28 and it looked good)
the size of tires I had on mine were 295/35/18 and 275/35/18.
I sold mine since the tires were too expensive for my taste.

 

those black ones w/ the chrome lip and bolt/rivets are sooooo sweet

Thanks for the pictures. Your car looks awesome! The problem is in pictures, most cars look good with aftermarket wheels. At least from a distance, but in real life what will the car look like up close, parked just sitting there. You know what I mean?

 

i don't think you can get the ZR1s in 18"....

the 17" zr1s look good on an fbody...they fill out the fender nicely (asthetically...since the tire is the same size), but are not too big as to look like a skinny wagon wheel.

i say 17s for either type are the best choice. not to mention you won't sacrifice much straight line traction due to such a small sidewall with the 18s.

i have 17" zr1s on my z now...275 front, 315 rear...they ROCK

there is a company that sells the 18" ZR1 wheels in all finishes, but I am not sure if they offer an 11" or 10.5", I do know they have 18x9.5.

 

You may have won me over to 18" I like the way it fills up the back fenderwell better than a 17 does.

Filling the fender well is affected more by how much you lower the car than it is by the size of the wheel (unless you're considering a MUCH bigger wheel).
