Tpms?
New guy with an old Z-28 (1998) here. Searched and found very little here about TPMS. A VIN decoder said my Z-28 has one, but I don't think so, on a 1998. There is no mention of TPMS in the owner's manual. Is there a decent TPMS that can be added on, with a reasonable price and reasonable looks? The first few aftermarket TPMS came out with hefty pricetags and a poor appearance. I do not want one that uses my cell phone, or ties to some GPS system that I don't have.
Thanks for any help. |

Check out Amazon. There are quire a few options, but appearance is a personal thing:
Thanks. For me, I would want to see Temp, Pressure, and replaceable wheel-unit batteries. That link is a good start. |
Re: Tpms?
I haven't seen any systems that include other gauges (not that they don't exist). Good luck and post back what you end up with!

I did find this unit, but there may be better ones out there, which is why I was asking. Center display charges by solar or USB, displays in PSI or BAR, and a temp display, all are monitored constantly. Turned-on by motion detected. 4~5 years on the wheel unit batteries, and the batteries are replaceable. Not bad, for US$72.00 shipped. Any better suggestions are welcome here. |
Re: Tpms?
I know you said you didn't want to use the phone... I personally hate clutter in the car, and with a stock TPMS in my Acura, the amount of time that I use the info, looking at the phone wouldn't be bad (especially if the app has push notifications).
I will likely add this to my car: At the cost, I'd just replace the valves when doing tires. |
