How LOW should she go???
 

OK i have a stock 2000 Z28, by the end of this month she will have new ZR1 C6 rims and F1 tires blah blah blah...the new tire sizes are 19" on the back and 18" in the front. How much should i DROP it so it will be one inch and a half lower than it ORIGINALLY was?????????:confused:

If you chose your tire size correctly, it will still be at (or very close to) the stock ride height after you install the new wheels and tires. Its the tire diameter that determines the ride height, not the wheel diameter. If you chose your tire sizes incorrectly, you have to tell us the exact sizes of the front and rear tires (e.g. - 275/35-18) to determine if the ride height has been altered from stock.

Just out of curiosity, what is a "ZR1 C6" rim?

Hate to break it to ya, but that's not the "universal name" for any wheel let alone those. A C6 and a ZR1 are two completely different era cars. Those are just C6 "motosports" wheels if you want to call them that...

But those aren't Z06s either, they are standard C6 wheels, black, with rivits (aka motorsport).

F1 tires as in what comes stock? If so, there are much better choices.

Really Greed4speed???????Tell me what is the most tightest yet fastest able hugger out there! I thought Eagle F1 was the best, i also heard somehting about fusions or something, i have no limit to spend on a tire.

:lol: Well, if you've got no limits, then first you need to tell us what kind of weather you drive your car in. If you want a tire that's going to spin the world backwards when you mash it... look into some Kumho slicks, Kumho is SERIOUS about tires. If you need something with tread, start looking around at some other tires, Nitto has an NT01's that are supposed to be pretty amazing but I've never had any experience with them. Stay away from yokohama's, I've had nothing but bad luck with them, along with most people I talk to first hand.

"Eagle F1" is not a specific Goodyear Tire.... they use that as the prefix on several tire lines:

Eagle F1 Fiorano

Eagle F1 GS-D3

Eagle F1 Supercar

Eagle F1 GS

What do you want to do? If autoxing on rcompounds, the stickiest tire is one of those Kumho 710s or Hoosier, etc. The nitto 555r or NT-01 have more tread for rain but are still r compound. If you want the best street compound legal tire, the Falken azenis RT-615 or Kumho MX's.

If I were you, assuming your not doing any racing, I'd get either Goodyear GS-D3's or Nitto 555 street tires for long lasting tread, comfortable ride, and great rain traction. I am thinking of trying a set of cheap ass sumitros or one of those cheap tires to see how well they work sometime.

Please don't give advice like this out for someone choosing tires :no:

The GS-D3 is NOT the best tire that you can get for the money you spend on it, that's what this entire thread is about... and the Nitto 555R is a DRAG RADIAL!!! It won't handle for [edit]!

And as far as the best "street compound tire" whatever that is, the Falken azenis RT-615 and Kumho MX's are FAR from it.
