Ok... im doing the front brake upgrade on my 94 z... already got the new ls1 calipers and im buffing them down... and im trying to prevent as much down time without the car... im painting the new calipers red, and i need to know... is there a way... when i put the new calpiers in the front... if i were to paint the calpiers i previously had on the front... are they a direct replacement with the rear calipers?

simple version... are the front and rear calipers on a stock 94 z the same?

 

No, the front and rear calipers on the Camaros are not the same. They shouldn't even look close to being the same.

 

Are you asking if the calipers are the same from the LT1's to the LS1's? I think you know the fronts are obviously different. I am pretty sure the rears are the same with the exception that the LS1 cars rear calipers were mounted on the front side of the rotor, whereas the LT1 cars the calipers were mounted on the rear of the rotor. But I believe the rear calipers were the same.

 

ok. im comparing them on lt1's i know the ls1 fronts and rears are different... but on the LT1's they both look somewhat the same... at least with the rim on... i cant really tell right now. but i guess ill just have to have the car off the road for a day to paint the rear calipers. thanks for the answers.
