3rd gen wheels on a 4th gen? for the winter, please help
Hey guys, Im looking to find a set of cheap wheels for the winter. I came across some older Camaro rims, and I was unsure of the fitment. These are the ones I was looking at - http://providence.craigslist.org/pts/932925776.html - and I was curious of the fitment. I tried searching to no avail, but what did I find sounded like the older rims would most likely fit fine in the front, but need spacers in the rear? If they do need spacers or anything, what size? Lastly, what size snow tire for these rims/range in size? Thanks so much in advance.

They will fit fine, but they will look dumb. I've seen it. I'd keep looking for v6 4th gen wheels or something.

Well Im not in the least caring how they look since theyre for winter only. I just need to know if they will fit, and if they need spacers or anything.

i had some early 90's rs wheels on my 95 z28 and it looked really good actually..
*edit* here we go : Attachment 40735 just needed a drop but i sold it :( |
Just note that the 2" difference in offset/backspace puts the 3rd Gen wheels way toward the outside of the 4th Gen fenders.

sn8ke eatr - those actually dont look half bad for some winter wheels! thanks for the pic!
injuneer - thanks, and like I said, im not so worried about looks as functionality and being able to run a cheap set of snow tires on a cheap set of rims |
Get the tread too far outside the fenders and all the salt, gravel and sand on the road is going to be peppering your paint job - just a thought.
