Post Who's dealt with The Horsepower Store in Plano?

I've settled on my next mod as SLP bolt-on SFC's, and they have them discounted compared to most other sites. Most surprising of all, they show to be in Plano, TX - right up the street from me.

Who's shopped there....? What kinda guys are behind the counter and how long have they been around.

Is this the same place that was tucked away near Plano Parkway and 75, but was up for sale a little over a year ago?

Thanks in advance!

Yes but they have moved to Legacy and 75 now. Exit Legacy, go east across the train tracks, turn left at the light and go north on ave k (hwy 5) (greenville ave) for about 100 yards and look left.

I bought a nitrous express kit from them a little more than a year ago. They seemed like cool guys when I was there.

I've bought a lot of parts there for my Mustang and so has my friend with his Camaro. Michael (manager/salesman) knows quite a bit. I noticed that the service guys in the back knew more about products than the other salesmen. Install times seemed to take longer than expected, but in the end it was well worth it.

They aren't bad, but are expensive without a doubt, they don't deal in LT1 anymore too, if that matters to you. Michael is very cool though

Thanks for all the replies, guys!

As far as LT1 stuff, the SFC's fit both LT1 and LS1's, so I'm golden.

They do LT1 stuff also. You just have to ask them. I have known most of the staff over there and been friends with them sicne way before the store was ever around.

They definately do LT1 stuff, but I was told they are trying to get away from it. They can get anything, but don't carry much for the LT1

I worked there last year, and back before Horsepowerstore owned it, when it was CPR (Custom Performance Racing). They have really good pricing on most parts, and labor. I still do business with them
If I heard correctly, the just did away with their Mustang parts, and are specializing in 4thgen f-bodies, but mostly LS1's. But still they can get anything.

Damn, Jason...you been calling Miss Cleo again..?

I actually went by there and had the SFC's installed today. Their labor rates are reasonable and I saw some familiar faces from FasTech (They say FasTech is out of biz now...go figure)

Ironically, I asked them if they knew 'Pony Punisher' because I remember this part of Plano as your stomping ground. It's eerie that you posted a reply to my thread, when you had just come up in conversation.

I'll give ya'll an update on the SLP SFC's after I've toyed with it a bit more.

Lates...

That is weird...lol
I use different screen names on all the sites. blk97ta, Pony Pusher, Jason99TA, nbm99ta, and this one.
FAStech has merged with Speedtek. Now Sean works at the Dallas shop.
I'm sure you'll like the SLP SFC's. They are the best, IMO. Easy to install, very rigid, and use 6 bolts on each side.
