Where in Houston....

Can I get a good set of wheels? I am planning on going on the 16th and I need a set bad because one of mine is all out of shape. But I figured if I change it, might as well get some decent ones. So does anybody recommend any places? Thanks!

If your looking for aftermarket wheels, I highly recommend Jason at American Wheel and Tire at 290 and 610. He hooked me up with a set of Boyds for my truck. They may have stock trade in's if that's what your looking for.

Stock or custom really does not matter to me right now. Just a good set of rims at a decent price. Does he make commision? That way I can ask for him and help him out. Thanks!

Not sure if he makes comission or not. When I bought my Boyds I had to negotiate a little to get a deal, but I paid less than all the mail order places and I got them put on with lugs and locks. I think people trade in wheels there all the time when they buy their new ones, so you may be able to get a deal on some. Also, there is a salvage yard in Spring called Ron's auto salvage. I've never been there but I understand he specializes in late model performance cars so he might have something.

Cool! Thank you for your time. I'll check out both places. Any places to stay away from because I know they have bunch of em there.

I've been pretty lucky so far, no real bad experiences with wheels (transmissions, now that's another story!). I usually buy mine used, you just save so much cash that way. Good luck, I hope you find what your looking for!

Hey 1965GP does this Jason guy buy factory rims without trade or do you have to buy some from him? The reason I ask is that I have a set off my old 97 Z28 that has been sitting in my attic and I really need to get rid of them. If this guy doesn't do you know anyone else in the area that buys factory rims, they are in great shape and come with lugs etc.

I have a set of stock '00 wheels I can sell you pretty cheap - $175 for all four.
