This has been debated in the past....... As far as the State is concerned, it would be abolished only for cost means, but I dont see it happening any time soon...
As for this statement, " Finally, police officers will be more productive in stopping dangerous motor vehicle violations such as drunk driving, reckless driving, speeding, racing, etc., since their time will not be compromised by a Texas motorist who simply did not have a front license plate on display. " is a joke.....
I personnally have no problem with the law.......

Isn't a problem around here. Haven't had a front plate on any of my Camaro's or the Vette., in over 20 yrs. Only been stopped once and then wasn't ticketed. I think they just wanted to look at the car.
Texas front plate
Fellow Camaro enthusiasts:
I drove without a front plate on a 1996 Camaro SS. Then the state 'reinvigorated' the law along with a ton of other obscure Texas statutes. A young DPS officer flagged the car. Then I got to write a check for 112 dollars.
It seems to be a law that benefits fundraising. As well, my wife has been stopped for no front plate on a Corvette. Yet she is not issued a citation.
It is a kind of double standard for sissy cars.
