Well I went and got my parts from Trans Care, they were very friendly and even suggested some other parts. I barely made it over to Ahartz28's house. I had a donut on the back, and this terrible smelling white smoking kept coming from under the car so my friend says. It was occasional only under "heavy" accelleration we think it might have been the transmission finally kicking the dust because it was making some frightening sounds. I know I shouldn't have been driving it but a tow would have been a fortune, and I am dumping every last penny of disposable income into this car.

After I left I felt confident that he was capable of getting the job done. Which is more than I can say for many of those shops I went to which gave me conflicting information about the 4L60E suggesting Corvette servo and wanting me to finance with my title to the car... yeah right.

I know that whats done is done, but the cost of a tow is cheap vs the potential demise of your transmission.

Any shop that does repairs to your car can put a mechanic's lien on your title if you owe them money.

It can damage your differential if you exceed 50MPH but we never exceeded 35-40mph.

I'm willing to take the chance considering I am getting a rebuild. I don't drive it on a regular basis it was only 5 miles and I am not the richest guy around. So insurance maybe, but I can't afford "insurance" so I do what they do on the southside drive until they hit someone and run like hell.
