Stolen Gixxer in Houston

Somebody has stolen my 2000 yellow and black Gixxer 750 from my GATED apartment complex today. It's so new I don't even know the plate number yet, but here's the description:

2000 sticker scheme on the left side
Solid yellow (no stickers) fairing on the right side
Right side of the tail was a little scuffed up.
Carbon Fiber Yoshimura RS3 bolt on exhaust.
White frame slider on one side only.
Chrome tank (zipper) guard.
Rear brake pedal slightly bent from previous owner laydown.

I know that's not much to go on, but I just bought the damn thing Saturday. Please be on the lookout if you're in the Houston, Texas area.

Spindoctor- Just out of curiosity, why do you have the 750 for the street and the F4I for the track? I've been on both, and I felt like the Gixx handled MUUUUUUUUUCH better!

I saw that on the either Gixxer.com or the Houston Sportbike network. That looked like a pretty clean little bike too.

the gixxer is a better bike in every way, but when i started doing track days i didn't want to kill my street bike and i got a killer deal on the F4i already race prepped with all the goodies on it.

Ah, very understandable. That bodystyle gixxer is starting to grow on me. Have you ever had any problems with the fuel injection on it? THey always say the first year of fuel injection will have problems. Hell, my 00 Gixx still had a choke on it because they were having a little trouble figuring stuff out.

no problems with the fi, but its got cams and a custom map, so i don't know what it was like stock. it made 122 rwhp with 25k miles on it, not bad for a '98. they don't really have a choke, its just a fast idle, the a/f mixture is still controlled by the computer. here are a few pics:

How is the quality of it? I have heard some bad stories about the street tails from hotbodies.

very thin compared to airtech and not much of a gelcoat so you can see the fiberglass pattern through the paint pretty easy. fitment isn't too bad, but the lower was a little bowed. nothing major and it had been crashed 3 times before it got it. its only $470 for the whole kit, so you have to consider that. for a track bike i couldn't care less.

Very true. It's there to win, not to look pretty. Well, keep everything up but the knee and good luck with your racing.
