Post sports car ?

Do you consider the Camaro or Mustang to be a sports car ?
They might be considered sporty but I would classify them as muscle cars , ponycars
or some models as high-performance cars.

a muscle car is a midsize car with a big block engine. The fbody is/has neither.

It is probably just your intended use that will make that determination.

Traditionally a Muscle car was straight line speed only and Sports cars were fast through the twisties.

Now the F-body does a pretty good job of both and the Mustang mostly only straight line speed though can be made to handle decently.

I prefer the road course stuff and thus do consider my car more of a sports car.

I'd consider them a 'pony' car.

Muscle car = midsize or larger car with BIG engine (Chevelles, Impala SS, etc)

Sports car = small/lightweight car designed for handling (miata, s2000, etc)

I'd say that a 'pony' car is a performance-oriented car which falls somewhere between a muscle car and a sports car.
