What color is your Z? I drive a 30th anniversary SS around The Colony every once in a while. You should come up to Albertson's on Wednesday nights around 11:00 pm. Oh and don't mind Slow00Xtreme, he needs nitrous on that poor lil truck J/K

Eh....Speed Works is ok IMO...

A good friend of mine (Brandon at HPS) had them dyno tune his '00 TA and paid $500 for 2 rwhp and 10 rwtq max w/ no more than a 5 hp gain throughout the curve... And to top it off they were all shocked and shaken when Brandon said he wasn't impressed with the results, so I wont do business with them.

But others might have had better luck.

I like the folks over at speed works. Seems all the Vette guys love em look em up at www.z06vette.com Brandon over at the hps was not impressed with speed works. what is done the his car the he feels that he needed a dyno tune? Why did he think he would make big gains? I could understand if he had it tuned a speed works got 2hp then had it tunned again some where else and picked up more then it would be reasonable to say speed works did a crappy job. Untill then I dont think he has a claim. I rember when he started at the HPS He seemed to have probelms telling the diffrence between an metric and standard adjustable wrench.

I know personaly (not just car related) the people a the HPS and speedworks. I have known the sice long before they worked in the speed market. I have met brandon a few times he seems like a nice guy and he may very well know his ls1 stuff. But you cannot compare speedworks and the HPS they are two diffrent kind of speed shops. If you want to drop off your car and pick if up with a new engine go to speedworks. If you you want to lower your vette go to HPS. I you have a long term project or need a roll cage speed works is the place. If you just want a one day turn around go to the HPS. for a stroker motor go to speed works for a set of header go to HPS. That is how they are set up. HPS does not want to do long term projects Speedworks does and LG just suck. Sorry just had to add that since we were talkign about dfw shops. If you are friends with brandon ask him about the metric adjustable wrench its pretty funny.

Is this a TC roll call? Anyway I've heard good things about both shops. I hope to get some work done by Speed Works soon. Maybe a new engine, I'm looking for a LS1, cuz there is only so much you can do with a 3.8L V6.

heads/cam...

the overall feeling and attitude IMO just wasn't right considering the amount of work done for the dollar spent...

i'm not saying speedworks sux or nething, just that in my only experience with them(i was there when brandons car was tuned) i wasn't impressed. when we were there, they had some badass cars up at the shop so im not doubting their work at all...

brandon told me about the metric adjustable wrench, that was funny as hell

as far as your heads go, i know of a local guy who has done a few of my friends heads...might be the same guy slp223 is talking about, shoot me an email if you want his name and #

Anybody go to HPS saturday for dyno? When I got there, I watched two cars go up...from outside. HPS wont let you inside like speedworks will.
Then while they were dyno'n the cars, they smashed the rev limiter. What's the deal with that? I didn't put mine up...for obvious reasons.

Hurray for Speedworks!
