Unhappy I need a new/rebuilt 4L60E in Austin.

My tranny is going out again. Missing 1st and 4th gears. Does anyone have a built tranny for sale in, or near Austin? Could someone recommend a good transmission shop?

Thanks,
Chris

One of my buddies is a mechanic at Henna Chevrolet. He also has his own shop and has tons of parts(trannys, motors, heads, ect.) I can call him for you and see if he can help you out. VERY reasonable prices for his work, which by the way is excellent. He is a good guy both to know and to do business with. Shoot me an email if you have any interest.

Thumbs up

Hey guy's

thanks for all the offers. I really appreciate it. Here's a little more info. Yesterday morning I go out and drive my car around the block and it's shifting normally. There was never any slipping the night before. It was like 1st and 4th just weren't there. I drove around for a while on the street and highway and all is well.
I get her home and check the fluid and it is bright red and does not smell burnt. Some Impala SS guy's are replying to my posts over on impalassforums saying that the 1-4 solenoids may be going bad. Cody, I'm going to send you an e-mail as I would like for your mechanic friend to take a look at it and maybe even change the fluid and inspect the solenoids. AHART, thanks for the offer. I have heard good things about your work and I just might call on you if it does need a rebuild. How long do you think it would take you to remove, tear down, rebuild and reinstall it? Do you have a shop nearby?

Thanks,
Chris
