I was actually driving on 114 towards Alliance yesterday when I saw a Shouthlake cop with LT1 checking speeds close to Solana. Haven't seen that one before, mainly LS1's, especially in Grapevine.

hey 95grnz I'm not trying to be a jerk and i know you weren't either but It makes no sense not to want to hang around grapevine because of cops regardless of whether they have lS1's or LT1's! By the way I live in Trophy club right by Solana and have never seen aN LT1 officer do you know what city he was from?? Well regardless of cops I'am setting something up with the manger at Sonic in grapevine for an F-body cruise night so I hope you will be there.

 

southlake has no more camaros. when the cpl. moved to the warrant officer position they got rid of the last one and replaced it with a motorcycle.

 

Wish i still lived down there (i will soon ). Southlake use to have i think 2 lt1 z28's both with a 4 point roll bar. Those cars where sweet, grapvine might have had a couple of z28's also. I have alot of friends with sports cars that are still down there, if you guys race much then please post in the kill section, i would love to read about some of you guys racing them. Alot of them have some mean **** but hopefully you boys could take them because most of them drive Mustangs. Anyways, see you boys soon.


Oh, me and my buddies started racing about 4 years ago when i was 16 (got my iroc then) on the north side of TMS on there little
"traffic loop" that goes around the track theres about 3/4 mile starit away 4 lanes and has lights, that is where all my friend and i use to go race about 1 once amonth. We turned it into something really big with in the past 2 years and the cops started to bust it, now no one goes out there anymore but my friends. They say its a ghost town now. So if you boys are in the mood to race and have not place to go then ceep TMS in mind. later

I drive by the Southlake police dep. every day and they still have at least one lt1 left.

 

that's the last one that is being retired. the cpl just moved to warrants a few weeks ago. it's no longer in service.

grapevine i know for sure just bought a 2002 B4C to replace the one they wrecked so it will be around for a while. they work evening shift and focus on DWI patrol.

 

How do you know all this stuff? How did Grapevine wreck there other z28? Would you know of a way i could get my hands on one of those old southlake z28's? i would love to have one of those.

 

It sure was in service at least last Wednesday: white LT1 w/"Southlake Police" written in yellow on the side. No lights on the top, of course.

As far as the meeting goes, the LS1.commers did arrange a couple of gatherings earlier this year at Hooters in Grapevine but I guess they haven't done that lately, either.

Setting something like that up is always at least somewhat of a hassle for the person doing it and you can never be sure if anybody is going to show up etc.

Anyway, if I have the time, I will definetely attend any meetings held around here. I guess I have to park somewhere way in the back with my stock V6, though...

let's just say i'm "up on it." i talked to Cpl. Paul the other day. he passed on the information about the LT1 that he drove for 5 years. his name was actually painted on the roof. my agency just purchased a 2002 B4C LS1. it was the last NBM B4C sold. the dealership we purchased it from was in louisiana. this dealership also told us they had 7 white ones and 1 black one that a salesman had squandered away before production ceased. we talked with grapevine after their officer was in a serious accident. he was chasing a violator when he was cut off by another motorist. in order to avoid hitting the motorist he swerved and rolled the camaro several times at approximately 110mph. they were having problems locating a replacement, since this one was totalled, so we informed them of the 7 stashed B4Cs in louisiana. they promptly placed the order.

to get an ex-police vehicle, you will have to attend an auction where the cars are sold. by law the vehicles must be auctioned off. check with the police department to find out where the auction will be held and then try and find someone who is licensed to purchase vehicles from an auction.
