You remind me of a local girl. She has the same aspirations.

Muffler shops do it, the smaller place it is, the better. You'd probably be happier with a single to be honest, unless you've already got headers and/or are going catless. The best cutout placements i've seen are either right at the bend before the axle jump, or right after the jump before entering the muffler.

Both of those setups shoot directly backward and allow the main stream of gas to exit.

Good luck, there's something about F-bodies with F-bodies that I can't resist.

EDIT: oh and summitracing.com is a great place for cutouts, around $30 each.

Welcome to the board by the way.

I'm from Fort Worth too, over in Benbrook on the west side of town, I'm down in College Station for school right now though.

This is for my 95 but it should not be a problem to do the same for your 02. I didn't go to a shop to put mine on. I know band clamps aren't what everyone would want but it sure made it easy and they seal up fine.

Re: Cut outs for my 2002 Camaro

I personally am not a big fan of QTP products. IMO they are poorly put together and their customer service is horrible. I had my E-cut from QTP setup the same way as Z28_95RIDE does. After having it installed for less than 8 months and fixing myself (flange broke twice) prior this happened-

Ive sent them numerous emails and all they have done for me was told me its 3 years old (i have the receipt to prove its less than 1year old.) Tell me i need to call customer service and charge me 30 bucks to fix it + shipping. I am through with those guys and im looking for an alternate solution.

Maybe cable operated, back to the plate/wingnut or finding another company that makes the E-Cut out.

EDIT:
Before i make anyone upset here this is just my opinon and my expirence with QTP. I bet most everyone has been happy with their product. Im not sharing this information to start any trouble. Just my opinion and my expirence. No more no less

ya, i think an electric cutout is a waste of money anyways. mine is open all the time so i'd never even use it.

Something i was thinking about, what if you hooked up a DBW motor to a cutout? If those things apparently almost never fail, it shouldn't be too hard to hook one or two up.

Matter of taste.

I just has a cutout installed in my new TA yesterday (local muffler shop charged $30 to do it) and I love it when it is open.

However, on a daily driver the noise gets a bit annoying (which is a matter of taste, of course), so therefore I ordered a McCord Mpp2 today so that I can have the best of both world in less than 10 seconds.

I have actually sold quite a few of them to F-body enthusiasts in Finland in the last couple of years and none of them have had any problems with them. I'm sure McCord has their share of defective units, too, just like anybody, but I've been quite impressed with them.

Mine should be here in two weeks so I don't have to crawl under the car anymore. Good for an old fart like myself.

true, there are times when it gets annoying, I always close it when i go on road trips etc. My gf doesnt even like being in my car bc of how loud it is. Not bad though bc that means she drives everywhere so i save gas and keep my car parked 95% of the time i go anywhere . Today, I talked her into driving in my car to class(I was in the driving mood). I hate squeezing into a parking spot/risking someone rubbing into my car etc. So i always park far, I dont see the point in parking close if you increase your chances of getting door dinged etc. A little extra walking doesnt hurt, so I parked in the furthest parking spot possible<-I know she hates that i do this, but she usually doesnt say anything.(There were no cars with in a few hundred feet...literally) and all that she says is "Seriously, I will never drive in your car again"

sorry for the long random story.

Haha... My wife is the same when it comes to the sound. I have, however, been able to teach her the same "furthest away from everybody"-parking method.

Keep on working, maybe your gf will learn it, too.

I'll assume the first F-Body means female-body.
