Wink Anyone wanna help me fix my car?

I can't afford to take it to a shop to get it fixed, but yes, I would be willing to pay you for helping... dunno how much, but we could work somethin out.

Basically I've had a short in it for some time. At first the short just caused the temp gauge to jump around, and it progressed, getting worse, and now whenever it shorts out, the gauge jumps around, and the a/c compressor will kick on and off. Also, sometimes it will cause a problem with the fuel/spark, and the car will sputter a lot. Sometimes the car won't even start, or takes me multiple times cranking to get it to start. When it's really cold out, the car usually won't start at all. But a lot of the times it's when it's warm out and the car's been running that it has trouble starting. And finally, if it sits for a couple of days the short (I'm assuming) will drain the battery completely.

I need someone who really knows what they're doing, and has the proper diagnostic tools or whatever to diagnose and fix the problem.

Please help. This needs to get fixed, as it's causing me some difficulty with my job! My fiance keeps telling me that I need to just sell my baby, and get a car that works... so I gotta get it fixed ASAP so I can tell her to shut up! I live in Kingwood area, but I'd be willing to drive somewhere else if you're not local.

You try checking your wiring for rot? You have any mods to your car?

Yeah, do you have a pulley or any mods you your car? Anything related to the electrical system? Nitrous, electric waterpump, etc?

I'd go have you alternator and battery tested - easy and free. However, it sounds like a ground. Find the main grounds for the car and clean them up.

QFT. I thought the same thing when I read this. Usually there is a ground on the right rear cylinder head that can become dirty/corroded and cause electrical gremlins.

Ehh, turns out my coolant temp sensor corroded and broke off, and the driver side blew out a head gasket. So looks like I get to have fun changing that out this weekend!
