96 SS no longer an LT1 FS

Thinking about possibly selling my 96 SS I've had for almost years if I can get some of my money back out of it. If you do not like my price or have negative comments please keep them to yourself, thanks.

Located in the Houston area, west side of town in Richmond / katy area.

Here is a link to a walkaround video with cutout closed.

During the cars life with me I have daily drove it for 2 years and then started jacking with it to make it more fun to drive. It was bone stock when I got it except for short tube headers. The motor had been replaced by the previous owner with a factory replacement so there was no need to keep it stock and hope for it to become a collectors car.

Over the years it has been babied in my garage, taking it out on the weekends and dumping money into it. I started by building a boost friendly 383 stroker and drove it around a few times a month for a few years. Made decent power but still was not very quick so I added the procharger with 15lbs. This is where it got fun, I immediately blew the 4l60e trans out so I bought Jakes 4l80e and it was bullet proof and still is. I added the 12-bolt just to make sure I didn’t get stuck on the road and I never did. Next to go was the LT1 motor, it split 3 main caps over the 500 miles of mild driving I threw at it with the procharger so I spent the next year building up the fuel system and installing the LS motor.

The car has never been abused, I mainly drive the speed limit but I do sometimes get there fast. It is adult owned /driven and I do all the maintenance myself minus building the motor, trans, and rear, however I did install all of them myself. I just finished the build in December 2014 and I do not have the time to spend driving it or dumping more time and money into it, plans were to boost this current motor this year but I have a little girl that is a year and a half that keeps me busy. My priorities have shifted and the family comes first.

Only know issue that the car has is the horn does not work.

Paint and body:
8/10 only because the car has some minor chips and a scratch or two that are not noticeable. Paint is very shiny, not dull in any way shape or form, LS SS spoiler was painted a few years back at a chevy dealer. The car has the original SS hood but I sold the LT SS spoiler and got an LS just because I prefer it.

Interior:
8.5/10 The dash is not cracked! Interior is clean, has factory cloth seats in good condidtion. Has the SS plaque car number 1207.

This is a very rare no options SS, no power anything, not ever rear defrost, the dash just has a blank spot where it is on a loaded car.

The car has a bunch of odds and ins and is capable of supporting up to 1000+hp. Right now its 460hp/ 460tq. Plans were to boost it, its at 10.5:1 compression.

The motor :
6.0 that has been machined and stroked to 427.
Lunati 4.125” crank
6.125 Manley rods
Diamond pistons
All ARP hardware
LS3 Heads with ported exhaust ports, swirl polished valves and Brian Tooley valve springs and titanium retainers
ARP head studs
243/254/629/629/114LSA custom cam
Ls7 lifters
LS3 rockers
High volume oil pump
FAST LSXr 102mm intake manifold
Nick Williams 102mm throttle body
1200 miles on motor

The fuel system:
Lonnies double pumper sending unit with two 255s and Teflon / ss braided lines for e85, 8an / 6an with a hobbs switch set to 4psi when running boost.
LS7 injectors
After market fuel rails with AN fittings
Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
Fuel system is setup with a return and is ran parallel.
E85 has not been ran through this system as of yet.

The Exhaust:
1-7/8” Hooker Super Comp Headers, no emissions
3” y-pipe with 4” flowmaster merge
4” Mufflex system with Magnaflow race muffler
4” SS manual cutout
Wide band O2 sensor just before cutout
I still have the TOTL exhaust but I currently have a 4" mufflex on it

The Transmission:
Jakes 4l80e “The Street/Strip (Stage 2) 4L80E includes all new friction materials, steels, bands, rollerized forward hub, rollerized output shaft thrust, heavy duty intermediate snap ring, 6 clutch direct pack, Hi-Energy carbon clutches in select locations, hydraulic modifications for much increased power capacity and firmer shifting. All 4L80Es also include a new boost valve assembly, new shift solenoids, manifold pressure switch, internal wiring, as applicable”.
Jakes D3 transbrake
Circle D 3500 converter (built for this build with boost in mind for the future, runs great NA)
Big B&M trans cooler with all AN fittings and braided SS lines
1500 miles on trans

Rear:
Strange 12-bolt
Narrowed (cannot remember how much but my 15x12 prostars have a 4.5” backspacing on them and they fit perfect
Posi unit with 3:73 gears
Wolfe anti-rollbar
LT1 brakes
3.5” custom steel Driveshaft for 4l80e to 12-bolt
1500 miles on rear

Suspension (Midwest Chassis)
Tubular K-member
Tubular trans mount
Manual rack
Adjustable control arms
Adjustable panhard rod
Adjustable tunnel mount torque arm
Hotchkis lowering springs 1.25” (installed on front, rear has stock springs but will include rear Hotchkis springs)
Bilstein shocks all around

Brakes:
LS1 spindles / brakes up front
LT1 brakes in back
WS6 Store drilled and slotted rotors

Wheels / tires:
15x4.5” Weld RTS wheels (black / polished lip), Kumho 165/80/R15
10x12” Weld Prostars (polished), Michey Thompson ET Street 325/50/R15, 28” tall.
All wheels are plasti dipped black but are perfect underneath. Tires are all almost brand new.

Misc:
Custom order BP Automotive engine harness with direct wiring for 4l80e transmission and 2-bar MAP sensor.
Car is running on speed density tune, no MAF.

This is the cleanest LT1 car I have ever seen on the road and it gets complements all the time, looks better than most LS cars out there as far as the condition goes. Its been garage kept for the past 10 years.

Basically it’s a clean LT car with an almost brand new drive line. Only the best parts used when assembling the car and would make for a great track, show car or just something to drive around. I'm only selling because I have a 1.5 year old daughter that I spend most of my time with and I don't have time to go out and drive the car like I use to.

Asking Price is $16,500
