y does a grand national sound like an 8 and my car sounds like poop? is it the turbo?
yo guys, i just heard a stock grand national the other day and it sounded tough like he had a 350 in it and i was confused about y it sounded so wicked? my v6 sounds like a split between a an old z24 cavalier and an integra wit a fart can on it and i got a flowmaster 80 series catback exhaust and borla square cut tips on each side. but if any of u guys know the answer to my question give me some answers lol? i was thinkin it couldve been the turbo but i thought that no matter what u do to a v6 it will never sound like an 8??? its a mystery too me?

its a mix of:
the cam
the turbo
the rest of the exhaust system
and you have a crapmaster muffler

Like he said above, the flowmaster 80 series sucks, and with a V6, at least from what i've experiaced you won't get a nice sound till you change out the CAT, with that water-tank of a stock CAT your car will sound raspy.
To put this into perspective, i removed my muffler completely. And the car still isn't LOUD LOUD, but it is loud. Sounds decent to me. But i have the stock CAT on there and it's still a bit raspy, but it's closer to that throaty v-8 sound.
So with a high-flow cat and a 40/50 series muffler from Flowmaster, or another muffler of your choice it should sound good.
Headers don't hurt either in the way of sound, and performance.
All depends on the amount of money your willing to spend.

ummm word of advice, just save your money and get a v8 and you dont have to waste your money on trying to make your car sound like a v8...just my .02 cents worth.
