Less you forget the past so quickly young padawan learner, the 1987 Buick GNX off the showroom floor was faster than the Corvette that year. Busting 12.9 in stock trim!!!
270 horsepower and about 360 ft-lbs. from a 231 cube V6.
Ryan94V6, if you did everything you could, I think a N/A 3.4 Liter could push mid 13's with the right suspension.

still from what i see here, the v6 guys seem to think that the fasest v6 12.4 is untoucable by an Ls1. Stock Ls1's run 13, put a few enhacners on and it is untouable buy any v6. why don't you clowns face that and quit being a bunch of crybabies. you have a v6 that run's 13, nobody cares. we all know v6's will never be as fast as Ls1's, it's a fact and i wish you clowns would quit bragging about your v6 being almost as fast as an ls1, no one cares. now get a freakin' life. v8 guys aren't anymore cockey than v6 guys, and i've had enough of your lip.

I am not trying to be a bitch about v6’s cause some of my friends got them and dude maybe we can meet some time Chris I don’t know I will private message you soon…there are a couple of guys around and in Hackettstown and I am trying to set up a meet…and just cause its my dads car does not mean I cant post about it…and he aint got a SS he has a 71 stingray we were looking at a SS but no the stingray is enough for us…hey Chris look for a topic called “Hackettstown Meet” in the Norteastern F-Bodies…I will talk about a meet around there some time ok.

Man.. this thread is just a sad case of Fbody canibalism. Filled with egos, misinformation, and flat out stupidity. For the record, I have owned 7 Fbodys.. 6 v6ers and my current SS. I wanted to do all kinds of mods to the last v6 to make it a fast v6 but I wrecked it before I got the chance and I could afford the SS by that time so I bought it.
As for the stock LS1 doing 12.4.. I think that has already had the :BS: flag thrown on it so I will leave that alone.
For the SS guys being cocky, try reading the thread again with an OPEN mind.. just about everyone who posted something was being cocky.
Which is faster v6 or v8? Well I guess that depends on the application doesnt it. Sure.. you take a modded out v6 on juice and a stock v8.. I am sure the v6 will win (drivers being equal). You take a stock v6 and a stock or even modded v8 I am sure the v8 would win (again drivers equal).
For the great (sarcasm) one liner about "spent 4k on SS badges", there is a little more to it than that.. but yes the SS package is mostly only an appearance upgrade to a Z28... I dont say anything when a v6 guy buys an SS spoiler because they like the look of it.. so why are you talking **** about someone liking the look for the SS package and buying it over a Z28?
