Post What size cutout do I need?

Can someone please tell me what size cutout I need to get. I measured the I-pipe, and came up with right under 2.25". Some people said 2.25" and others said 2.5". For those of you with a 3.4, what size did you get? Thanks.

Go .25 larger than you need.If you have a 2.25 then get a 2.5,or if you have a 2.75 then get a 3.By the way,see if you can find a used cat-back from a WS6 or SS.You'll get a much bigger gain from that than with a cut-out.Good luck.

I don't know how my setup will turno out.

But....

this is my plan, my y-pipe(2.5 in.) to a catco highflow cat, 2.5 in. to a cutout, 2.5in. to a S-pipe to a 2.75 in. catback sotck system off a z28, if the muffler feels restrictive I will change it to something else. Now at the track if I have too much flow with my cutout open I plan on rigging different size block off plates that will allow air threw and not block it off completley so I can fine tune the car.

this will be ditching the 2.25 in. i-pipe
