v6 wiring harness

I haven't been around here for a while...

on to my question. My nephew just got an 86 camaro. It needs a wiring harness. With just a little search, he's found a harness for an 83 and a harness for an 89.

Would it be the same harness as either of those?

What other info do you need?

It's a stick if that matters for a wiring harness.

Ok it depends on whether he has a carbed motor of FI. If it is fuel injected then the harness off the 89 SHOULD work. if it's carbed then the one off the 83 will work. And welcome back btw.

EDIT: I looked it up on TGO and if he has the stock motor then it's a Fuel Injected model. So the harness from the 83 will NOT work. As far as I know the harness from the 89 should work but I don't know if there were any major changes to the MPFI V6 between those years that would cause it not to work. But I know for a fact the 83 harness won't work. I hope this helps you
