I thought about doing an LT1 swap into my '96 V6, but after looking over all the parts and the amount of work that would need to be done, it looked like way too much of a pain to deal with. You're better off trading your V6 in as a down payment on a Z28 or an SS, but if you do decide to go for it, good luck!

Cheaper yeah, but i assume he's still young with still being in school. young kid(like me)+ an LS1 Z28 = $$$$INSURANCE$$$$ trust me. i pay 1500 every 6 months for my V6. ugh.
You think that's expensive? I'm 20 and I have to pay insurance on a '96 V6 and a '67 SS! Talk about highway robbery!

The funny part is, I really wouldn't be surprised if the insurance on your '67 SS is cheaper than your '96 V6. Talk about injustice!!

You better believe it! The '96 is significantly more expensive (and significantly slower) than the '67; however, some places did want to charge me $400/month to cover my '67! Talk about crazy... that means $400 + the $500 deductible = $900 before I see any money from my insurance company on an insurance claim. Find me one part on a 1967 Camaro SS that costs more than $900, breaks regularly, and can be claimed on insurance when it does break! Needless to say, I didn't signup with any of those companies that wanted to charge me $400/month. Hell, for $400/month I could buy another '67 SS!
