if i get a supercharger for my firebird, will it put me near an ls1 or lt1 in the 1/4 mile?

I got a 2000 firebird 3.8 y87 package im all stock. so i dunno wut i would need 2 upgrade in my car 2 handle the supercharger and not sure if it will be runnin wit lt1's or ls1's so its prolly not even worth it. i just dont wanna go out and get rid of my car just 4 the power of an 8. i figure if i can just do some simple **** to the motor ill have more fun wit it. ive been losing to rsx's and gtp's and i feel like a douchbag cause its a v6. my ground effects and rims make it look badass but i stomp it and it sounds like an accord v6 wit fart cans on it. but as long as the girls keep comin, i dont care. most of them dont even know wut a v6 or a v8 is. lol

if you know what it can do for now then why beat on it unnessarily. having a relaible car is more important. id just drive it for what it is, its still a really nice car, and im sure you would rather be driving that than a civic right? but you have to make the choice of which is more important to you. having a nice car or having the same one thats faster. because the difference in the $'s would be its cheaper to buy a v8 car. but maybe your insurance is too high on a z28, well if you are satisfied with your car then it gives you time to save for a v8.
