SPRAYING A 98 3800
Has anyone here used N2o on their 98 + v6 fbody? If so, what setup you running? What strength? Any concerns that are particular to our cars?
Cheers

I'm spraying my 3800 but it's a 97. I use a zex 100 horse dry kit with the nozzle about 6 inches in front of the throttle. the only thing i've had to change so far is the clutch.

The main thing to remember about nitrous is that you need to make sure you never lose your fuel supply.Nitrous minus fuel equals BOOM!
So either run a wet kit or make sure your fuel system is up to par.I ran a 100hp shot on my '95 3.4 and never had any problems with that shot. Also you never want to shoot the juice at anything less than full throttle. So a basic kit should include at least:
-Fuel pressure safety switch
-Full throttle switch
There are a lot of extras you could get but those main safety items should be there.Good luck. You also might want to check out the nitrous forum at www.firebirdv6.com and have fun!

I had my kit on there for over a year and Tim LeGros had a 90hp shot on his '95 3.4 for right around 3 years I think.Neither of us had any problems from using that high of a shot. The 3.4 has a very strong bottom end,the only thing that's weak is the pistons themselves. And like I said above, throw enough fuel in with the nitrous and you should be OK.Kevin

That's pretty good. I was told anything under a 100 shot should use the dry kit. I'm looking into it.

It will not hurt the motor any if the nitrous solenoid locks up and you only spray fuel into the intake, the car will just run a bit rich. That's why I always suggest a wet kit to nitrous users.I am getting another one in January when I get back from Germany to go on the Z.Later.Kevin
